In Sunday’s NYT, I get slimed again by Frank Rich. Same stuff as he’s said before: My testimony in the California Prop 8 case owes a debt to George Rekers. I have no qualifications. My work is all about profiting from propoganda and spreading anti-gay bigotry. I’ve already said (here and here) pretty much all I know to say in response to these truly horrible accusations. Â
It’s funny, about a week ago, I wrote a fairly lengthy, respectful, and conciliatory personal note to Mr. Rich, hoping that, if he knew even some the basic facts — about my opinion of Mr. Rekers’ writings, about the content of my testimony, about my oft-repeated public statements on homophobia and on the equal dignity of gay and lesbian love — that he might see his way clear to stop the sliming. I guess I have my answer.
