Just thinking out loud, there is a funny tone that creeps in when adults who have used donors to have children talk to other adults who themselves were conceived through donation of sperm or egg.
The “parent” adult adopts a parental tone talking to the other adult, who is treated at best like a child who needs some kind but firm instruction, or at worst like an ungrateful brat who requires a good scolding.
One of the nineteen recommendations in our report is this:Â ”Recognize that reproductive technologies create people, not just babies.”
In the public debate, if we achieve nothing else than that with this report, I will consider it a success.

well I’d suggest that most donor kids don’t fully understand the injustice until after age 18, and by that time they’re out of the house and the parents got what they wanted, cute little babies.
